Useful resources to help you plan and make your bus journey in Oxfordshire.
Sometimes it can be difficult to find out what bus services are operating when and where, particularly when you are doing so for the first time or in a new area. This page brings together the most useful websites and resources to support bus journey planning in Oxfordshire.

There are several journey planner applications out there that will help you work out how you may be able to make your journey by bus, including Google maps and Traveline.
All major bus operators have journey planners built into their apps. In Oxfordshire, the Oxford Bus Company journey planner is currently the most comprehensive as it also includes most bus services provided by other operators. You can find the Oxford Bus Company journey planner here.
To find out what services are available in your area we recommend www.bustimes.org. You can search for your local town and it will list all the routes (at the bottom of the page) and the bus stops and which routes serve which stops.
There are a number of real time passenger information (RTPI) displays available at bus stops and transport hubs throughout the County which will tell you when the next bus is due. You can check live bus times online through operator apps, which often also show you where the bus is currently located on a map, or you can use the County's OxonTime website.

There are a great number of ticket options available in Oxfordshire and the best value option for you will depend on where you travel to and from, how often you travel, and whether you use the services of more than one bus company.

Children under the age of 5 generally travel free with an accompanying adult.
You can also travel for free with a concessionary bus pass (time restrictions may apply). There are two types of free bus pass in Oxfordshire. One is for older people and the other is for people with a disability.
